Jace Meyer Shift Disturber + Indigenous Engagement Strategist + Pathmaker

“If you believe in the Consequences Of Your Actions, we can all be better ancestors.”

Founder and CEO of COYA Productions and a DMZ Women of the Year, Jace Meyer is a Métis Entrepreneur dedicated to empowering youth and Indigenous peoples. As a national Indigenous leader, changemaker, and bridge builder, Jace’s mission is to create powerful spaces for self-determination and self-actualization–to feel belonging without bounds. Through her work as an Indigenous educator and businesswoman, Jace vocalizes the need to Indigenize everyday life for the betterment of the world and for future generations.

A child of Turtle Island and a digital Métis nomad, Jace grew up relocating more than 34 times in her life. It was not until the loss of her grandmother that Jace discovered her Métis identity—exposing her to the social consequences of being Indigenous that her family had long sheltered her from. Despite these hardships that burdened Jace and her family with shame and intergenerational trauma, these experiences ultimately changed her life.

Encouraged and motivated to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, Jace has made it her mission to advocate for youth and Indigenous peoples. A BC trained teacher, Jace has influenced STEM education curricula and e-commerce platforms with educational strategies to support youth and Indigenous peoples’ crucial involvement in the workforce and reinforce feelings of belonging.

Jace launched COYA Productions Inc., headquartered on lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Territory known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, to demonstrate her beliefs: “You are the Consequences Of Your Actions, not the product of your circumstances.” COYA co-creates with social impact creators, Indigenous Entrepreneurs, and unheard youth voices to develop educational tools that embody theories of change for good futures. COYA was birthed as a method for walking in the world; to disentangle the webs of colonization and to move forward in a better way.

As the daughter of Helene Rose Poirier and a busy mother to Charlie Rose, Jace’s upbringing has empowered her to aspire for a world that is always thinking seven generations ahead. In the work Jace does, her purpose is to foster experiences with communities and create spaces for equitable access to knowledge. An imaginative bridge builder, Jace Meyer is championing Indigenous voices by educating organizations with impactful strategies for inclusive and ethical spaces.
